    Department of Primary Education

    Under the Primary Education Department of Wardha Zilla Parishad, education is provided to boys and girls from 1st to 8th standard through Zilla Parishad Primary Schools. At the district level, the Education Officer (Primary) is the head of the department and at the taluka level, the Block Education Officer is the head of the taluka. In order to provide quality education to students from 1st to 8th standard, various schemes sponsored by the Central Government and sponsored by the State Government are implemented through the Primary Education Department of the Zilla Parishad.

    1. Primary education of students from rural areas of the district.
    2. Handling all matters related to the establishment of primary teachers in the district.
    3. Providing attendance allowance to parents of girls from weaker sections.
    4. Construction and repair of primary schools.
    5. Construction of toilets.
    6. Repair of toilets.
    7. Digitilization of schools.
    8. Scholarship.

    There are a total of 908 primary schools of the Zilla Parishad in the district, while there are 2 higher secondary schools. The objective of this department is to improve the standard of education in rural areas and to increase its quality, the schemes implemented by the Central and State Governments are implemented with enthusiasm.

    This department handles the recruitment, transfer, adjustment, promotion, fixed-term promotion, inter-district transfer, Adarsh Shiksha Award, retirement cases, leave cases, Right to Information etc.

    Rural Water and Supply Department

    Zilla Parishad, Wardha is the headquarters of the Rural Water Supply Department and has sub-divisions in all the eight talukas of Wardha district. Also, the mechanical sub-division of this department is functioning under the Zilla Parishad.

    There are a total of 765 individual water supply schemes in Wardha district and a total of 9 regional water supply schemes are operatinal through the Zilla Parishad. There are a total of 4883 hand pumps and 51 electric pumps working in the district.

    Water and Sanitization Department

    First of all in 1986, the Central Sponsored Rural Cleanliness Program was started in 1986. This first event, which is associated with cleanliness, was mainly started with the purpose of improving the quality of life of the rural people. In the 1991 census, toilet statistics in the first house were collected. At that time, the ratio was found to be frustrating in the countryside. The Central Government has launched an area improvement pilot program in 67 districts across the country in 1999. This was the idea of what could be learned from the proposed demanding method. Four districts were selected from Maharashtra for this. From 1986 to 1999, necessary changes were made to the policy of this program. Today, the program is “not based on the goal but that demand is based”.

    The emphasis was on information, education and dialogue, human resource development, capacity raising programs through the entire sanitation campaign from 1999 to raise awareness of health awareness among the people of rural areas and to create demand for sanitation facilities. The entire sanitation campaign launched by the Central Government was started in Wardha district in 2004 from 2004 to 2014 to 2014, from the 513 Gram Panchayat Nirmal Gram Award, which was included in the 10 districts of the state, which included 100% of the state. In 2016, 100 percent of the district was declared as a free free.By ensuring complete hygiene to raise awareness of cleanliness.

    Works Department

    This Works Department is one of the various department included in Zilla Parishad. The Head of the Works department is the Executive Engineer and his subordinates are the Deputy Executive Engineer and Deputy Engineers having five Sub-divisions under his supervision having subordinates Sectional engineers and junior enginners and their offices are at Taluka level.     Minor Irrigation Department

    Zilla Parishad, Wardha is the headquarters of Minor Irrigation Department,Wardha and has sub-divisions at Wardha, Arvi, and Hinganghat . Arvi , Ashti, and Karanja talukas are in the juriduction of Arvi sub Division. Wardha, Deoli , seloo talukas are in the juriduction of Wardha sub Division. Hinganghat and Samudrapur talukas are in the juriduction of Hinganghat sub Division.

    Under this Department, Irrigation structures of 0 to 100 hactor capacity like Minor Irrigation Tank, Percolation Tank, Village Tank, Storage Tank, Kolhapur Type Weir, Storage Bandhara, Cement Nallabandh and lift irrigation schemes are constructed and their maintainance has been done.     Functions:-

    1. To see the functioning of all government recognized secondary schools in the district.
    2. Running the administration of aided, unaided, permanent unaided schools.
    3. To convey the various schemes of the government to the students.
    4. Appointment and payment of salaries of teachers.
    5. Accreditation of schools, set approval, roster verification.
    6. Approval of recruitment of teachers.
    7. Allocation of grants.

    Social Welfare Department

    Various schemes and activities are implemented through the Social Welfare Department of the Zilla Parishad under the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department of the Government to raise the social and educational standard of living of the backward classes and their upliftment. Also, according to the policy orders of the government, the Zilla Parishads are required to spend at least 20% of their income on the welfare schemes of the backward classes.

    Agriculture Department

    For scheduled caste farmers Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Krishi Swalamban Yojana and Birsa Munda Krishi Kranti Yojana for tribal farmers

    According to the new revised grant for the year 2024-2025 to increase financial income by providing sustainable irrigation facilities. Babasaheb Ambedkar Krishi Swavalamban Yojana for Scheduled Caste / Neo Buddhist farmers And Birsa Munda Krishi Kranti Yojana is being implemented by the State Government’s Agriculture Department for tribal farmers. The agriculture department of Zilla Parishad is implementing the said schemes at the regional level.

    Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Agricultural Self-Reliance Yojana

    Under this scheme new well (Rs. 4.00 lakh), repair of old well (Rs. 1.00 lakh), (90% or Rs. 40 thousand) of prevailing economic parameters or actual cost of pump sets (diesel / electric pumps) for pump sets up to 10 Axial capacity. Power Connection Size (Rs. 20 thousand), Inven Boring (Rs. 40 thousand), Solar pump (instead of power connection size or pump set) (Rs. 50 thousand), Plastic lining of farms (Rs. 2.00 lakhs), Machinery (Bull Moved / Tractor Moved) Implements (Rs. 50 thousand), All subsidies are admissible for frost irrigation (within the limit of 15 % or Rs. 47 thousand) and drip irrigation (within the limit of 15 % or Rs. 97 thousand).

    Eligibility criteria for availing the scheme:-

    1. Beneficiary should be a Scheduled Caste / Neo-Buddhist farmer.

    2. The farmer should have a caste certificate issued by the competent authority.

    3. A farmer should have 0.40 hectare and maximum 6.00 hectare agricultural land in his own name.

    4. 7/12 certificate of land tenure and 8A copy must be in the name of the farmer.

    5. Beneficiaries below poverty line will be given first priority.

    6. Beneficiary must have Aadhaar card. Beneficiary must have his own bank account and the said bank account must be linked to Aadhaar card.

    7. Once the full benefit of the respective scheme is taken, the benefit of this scheme will not be paid to the same beneficiary or family for the next five years. Also, if the benefit of a new well is taken, the benefit of the old well repair component will be allowed to the beneficiary after 20 years.

    8. A note will be taken on the 7/12 statement of the beneficiaries who availed the said scheme.

    Birsa Munda Agricultural Revolution Scheme

    National Biogas Development Plan

    Advantages of Biogas:-

    Biogas is a great project for the upliftment of farmers, like gas for cooking, electricity generation from slurry to good fertilizer for agriculture.


    Criteria:-

    1. Beneficiary should have at least 5 animals.
    2. Own plot should be (12 X 12) feet.

    Grant limit:-

    1. 1 d.m. Construction of biogas plant of capacity per plant Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Rs. 17000/- General Other Rs. 9800/-

    2. 2 to 4 hrs. Construction of biogas plant of capacity per plant Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Rs. 22000/- and General Others 14350/-

    3. Additional central assistance to biogas plant connected to toilet Rs.1600/- per plant

    Women and Child Development Department

    Among the various departments included in the Zilla Parishad, the Women and Child Welfare Department is one of them. The head of the Child Welfare Department is the District Programme Officer and he supervises 9 projects under him. In 9 projects, there is a Child Development Project Officer and his offices are at the Taluka level.

    To empower women in rural areas and increase their economic status, improve their standard of living, as well as create awareness about cleanliness, health, and family. Also, the chambers should be open to divorced women and other women. For the schemes are being implemented through the Women and Child Welfare Committee in the Zilla Parishad area.

    1. Providing materials to women in rural areas at 90% subsidy (Sewing machines)

      Eligibility criteria for availing the benefit of the scheme:-

      • Preference will be given to eligible beneficiaries from families below the poverty line. Also, income certificate from the Tahsildar should be attached. Annual income for the year 2024-2025 should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000/- (One lakh twenty thousand in words only).

      • Applicant should be a resident of rural areas of Wardha district. (Certificate from Sarpanch / Gram Sevak / Talathi should be attached).

      • Caste certificate from Sub-Divisional Officer should be attached.

      • The beneficiary should not have availed the benefit of this scheme from any other department/scheme. (Self-declaration of the beneficiary should be attached).

      • The beneficiary will be paid 90% of the material fee. Or 90% of the rate fixed by this office will be paid to the beneficiary. (Whichever is less).

      • A copy of the beneficiary’s Aadhaar card and bank passbook and bank’s credit slip should be attached with the application.

    2. Providing computer training (MS-CIT) on 100% subsidy to girls from 7th to 12th pass in rural areas.

      This scheme is implemented to acquire computer knowledge and skills. M.S.C.I.T. training is mandatory for government/semi-government jobs. Since this program is with MKCL, training should be organized in the authorized training center of this corporation.

      Eligibility criteria for availing the benefit of the scheme:-

      • It is mandatory for the institution to be MKCL accredited.

      • Preference will be given to eligible beneficiaries from families below the poverty line.

      • Also, income certificate from the Tehsildar should be attached. Annual income for the year 2023-2024 should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000/ (One lakh twenty thousand in words only).

      • Applicant should be a resident of rural areas of Wardha district. (Certificate from Sarpanch/Gramsevak/Talathi should be attached).

      • Caste certificate from Sub-Divisional Officer should be attached.

      • The beneficiary should not have availed the benefit of this scheme from any other department/scheme. (Self-declaration of the beneficiary should be attached).

      • The beneficiary’s Aadhaar card should be attached with the application.

    3. Providing ladies bicycles at100% subsidy to girls studying in classes 5th to 12th in rural areas.
      • Preference will be given to eligible beneficiaries from families below the poverty line. The applicant should be a resident of rural areas of Wardha district. (Certificate from Sarpanch/Gramsevak/ Talathi should be attached).

      • Caste certificate from Sub-Divisional Officer should be attached.

      • The beneficiary should not have availed the benefit of this scheme from any other department/scheme. (Self-declaration of the beneficiary should be attached).

      • The distance between the student’s residence and the school should be more than 1 kilometer. If the distance is more than 2 kilometers, preference will be given. (A certificate of distance should be attached from the Branch Engineer of the concerned Panchayat Samiti).

      • A copy of the beneficiary’s Aadhaar card and bank passbook and the bank’s CDI slip should be attached with the application.

    4. Lek Ladki Scheme
      • Lek Ladki Scheme will be applicable to one or two girls born on or after April 1, 2023 in families holding yellow and orange ration card. Also, if there is one boy and one girl, it will be applicable to the girl.

      • It will be mandatory for the mother/father to submit a family planning certificate while submitting the application for the third installment for the first child and the second installment for the second child.

      • Also, if twins are born during the second delivery, one or both girls will be eligible for the benefit of this scheme. However, after that, the mother/father will be required to undergo family planning surgery.

      • This scheme will be permissible for a second girl or twin girls (independently) born before April 1, 2023. However, it will be necessary for the mother/husband to undergo family planning surgery.

      • The beneficiary’s family must be a resident of the state of Maharashtra.

      • The beneficiary’s bank account must be in the state of Maharashtra.

      • The annual income of the beneficiary’s family should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.

    Animal Husbandry Department

    Various schemes are being implemented by the animal husbandry department in the district to help the farmers in animal husbandry and due to this, their lives have changed positively.

    Also considering the increased tendency of farmers in Wardha district towards animal husbandry and dairy business, it is indicated that this business is increasing.
