    Various schemes are being implemented by the animal husbandry department in the district to help the farmers in animal husbandry and due to this, their lives have changed positively.

    Also considering the increased tendency of farmers in Wardha district towards animal husbandry and dairy business, it is indicated that this business is increasing.

    Vision:-

    To ensure economic and nutritional development in the district through improved animal husbandry techniques.

    Mission:-

    In proportion to the increasing population of the district, to eliminate the gap between the demand and availability of milk, eggs and meat and through it strengthening the rural economy and eliminating the unemployment in the rural areas.

    A total of 85 veterinary Dispensaries are functioning under Animal Husbandry Department Zilla Parishad Wardha. In which 21 Veterinary Dispensaries Gr.-I, 62 Veterinary Dispensaries Gr.-II and 1 mobile unit are working. Technical work target assigned to Live-stock Development Officers, Assistant Live-stock Development Officers, Live-stock Supervisors in the department is the ultimate goal to benefit the livestock farmer. The department is working for the all-round development of animal husbandry and the department is progressing in that direction.

    1. Treatment of sick animals.
    2. Preventive vaccination programme.
    3. Minor- Major surgeries of animals.
    4. Breeding of high yield animals by artificial insemination.
    5. Castration of bull.
    6. Examine infertile animals and pregnancy diagnosis of pregnant animals.
    7. To implement the prescribed schemes and provide proper guidance to the livestock farmers. The farmers will benefit from the schemes implemented by the state government as well as the Zilha Parishad.
