    Women and Child Development Department

    Among the various departments included in the Zilla Parishad, the Women and Child Welfare Department is one of them. The head of the Child Welfare Department is the District Programme Officer and he supervises 9 projects under him. In 9 projects, there is a Child Development Project Officer and his offices are at the Taluka level.

    To empower women in rural areas and increase their economic status, improve their standard of living, as well as create awareness about cleanliness, health, and family. Also, the chambers should be open to divorced women and other women. For the schemes are being implemented through the Women and Child Welfare Committee in the Zilla Parishad area.

    1. Providing materials to women in rural areas at 90% subsidy (Sewing machines)

      Eligibility criteria for availing the benefit of the scheme:-

      • Preference will be given to eligible beneficiaries from families below the poverty line. Also, income certificate from the Tahsildar should be attached. Annual income for the year 2024-2025 should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000/- (One lakh twenty thousand in words only).

      • Applicant should be a resident of rural areas of Wardha district. (Certificate from Sarpanch / Gram Sevak / Talathi should be attached).

      • Caste certificate from Sub-Divisional Officer should be attached.

      • The beneficiary should not have availed the benefit of this scheme from any other department/scheme. (Self-declaration of the beneficiary should be attached).

      • The beneficiary will be paid 90% of the material fee. Or 90% of the rate fixed by this office will be paid to the beneficiary. (Whichever is less).

      • A copy of the beneficiary’s Aadhaar card and bank passbook and bank’s credit slip should be attached with the application.

    2. Providing computer training (MS-CIT) on 100% subsidy to girls from 7th to 12th pass in rural areas.

      This scheme is implemented to acquire computer knowledge and skills. M.S.C.I.T. training is mandatory for government/semi-government jobs. Since this program is with MKCL, training should be organized in the authorized training center of this corporation.

      Eligibility criteria for availing the benefit of the scheme:-

      • It is mandatory for the institution to be MKCL accredited.

      • Preference will be given to eligible beneficiaries from families below the poverty line.

      • Also, income certificate from the Tehsildar should be attached. Annual income for the year 2023-2024 should not exceed Rs. 1,20,000/ (One lakh twenty thousand in words only).

      • Applicant should be a resident of rural areas of Wardha district. (Certificate from Sarpanch/Gramsevak/Talathi should be attached).

      • Caste certificate from Sub-Divisional Officer should be attached.

      • The beneficiary should not have availed the benefit of this scheme from any other department/scheme. (Self-declaration of the beneficiary should be attached).

      • The beneficiary’s Aadhaar card should be attached with the application.

    3. Providing ladies bicycles at100% subsidy to girls studying in classes 5th to 12th in rural areas.
      • Preference will be given to eligible beneficiaries from families below the poverty line. The applicant should be a resident of rural areas of Wardha district. (Certificate from Sarpanch/Gramsevak/ Talathi should be attached).

      • Caste certificate from Sub-Divisional Officer should be attached.

      • The beneficiary should not have availed the benefit of this scheme from any other department/scheme. (Self-declaration of the beneficiary should be attached).

      • The distance between the student’s residence and the school should be more than 1 kilometer. If the distance is more than 2 kilometers, preference will be given. (A certificate of distance should be attached from the Branch Engineer of the concerned Panchayat Samiti).

      • A copy of the beneficiary’s Aadhaar card and bank passbook and the bank’s CDI slip should be attached with the application.

    4. Lek Ladki Scheme
      • Lek Ladki Scheme will be applicable to one or two girls born on or after April 1, 2023 in families holding yellow and orange ration card. Also, if there is one boy and one girl, it will be applicable to the girl.

      • It will be mandatory for the mother/father to submit a family planning certificate while submitting the application for the third installment for the first child and the second installment for the second child.

      • Also, if twins are born during the second delivery, one or both girls will be eligible for the benefit of this scheme. However, after that, the mother/father will be required to undergo family planning surgery.

      • This scheme will be permissible for a second girl or twin girls (independently) born before April 1, 2023. However, it will be necessary for the mother/husband to undergo family planning surgery.

      • The beneficiary’s family must be a resident of the state of Maharashtra.

      • The beneficiary’s bank account must be in the state of Maharashtra.

      • The annual income of the beneficiary’s family should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.

    Objectives:-

    1. To improve the nutritional and health status of children aged 0 to 6 years.
    2. Laying the foundation for the proper physical, mental and social development of children.
    3. Reducing infant mortality, child mortality, malnutrition and school dropout rates.
    4. To make the district malnutrition free.
    5. Focus on enhancing the survival, protection, development, well-being and participation of women and children in a comprehensive manner.
